Embrace - At EnCompass Church we believe that the Gospel is God's appointed word that was given to us for instruction of how to walk this earth. The Gospel in its simplest form is that Christ came down to earth, lived a perfect life, was crucified in our place to take away our sins to live eternally with Him. He then, by God's power, was resurrected and now sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us (John 3:16, 2 Cor. 5:21, Isa. 53:5, 2 Tim. 2:8). At EnCompass Church we believe that everything ultimately begins and ends with the Gospel. We want to see everyone EMBRACING the Gospel. As Christians we should take what God's word says and hold firmly to it in every area of our life (Heb. 2:3). Only through the Gospel are our lives no longer conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

 

Empower - We believe that there is only 1 true church. Anyone who has accepted Christ as Savior and Lord of their life is a part of His church (1 Cor. 12:27). Christ has called his people to be a representation of Him. It is our belief that Christ is the head, and we are the body called to go out and glorify him (Col. 1:18). For Christ's church to truly accomplish what He intended, it takes each member of the body doing his or her part (Rom. 12:4-5). Our prayer at EnCompass Church is to see each and every individual EMPOWERING the church by using the gifts that God has given to us by His grace (1 Cor. 12:7-11). There is 1 Christ and 1 church, for the church to be servants of Him, we must strengthen his body by using what he has given us for the upbuilding of His Kingdom.

 

Evangelize - The Great Commission commands all of us who have accepted Christ to "go out and make disciples" (Matt. 28.18-20). To evangelize means to tell others about Jesus that they might hear and believe in Him. God requires obedience in every aspect of the Christian walk. How can people call on someone that they don't believe? How can they believe in someone they have never heard? How are they to hear unless somebody tells them (Rom.10.14)? We can't expect the lost to come to believe and confess Jesus as their own personal Savior and Lord unless we EVANGELIZE the lost. We desire to see the lost receive righteousness through Christ and inherit eternal life through Him. Faith in Christ comes through hearing, and hearing through the Word of God (Rom. 10:17).

 

Engage - God's word tells us, there will always be people living on this earth who are broken. It also says that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psal.34:17-20). To engage something or someone means to become involved with. Everywhere you look we see brokenness all around. We see broken hearts, broken families, broken spirits. Not only does God's word tell us what He can and will do for those who are broken, but also commands His people to ENGAGE the broken as well (Deut. 15:7-11). Many people are living a broken life, a life that is empty and defeated. At EnCompass Church our desire and prayer is that we show the broken the only One who can heal their brokenness (Isa. 57:15).
